The faces of the students of Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth lit up after receiving medals and degrees during the convocation ceremony on Friday. Gold medals are to be given to 46 meritorious students in a total of 44 courses in the convocation ceremony held on 20-21 December. This includes eight meritorious in UG and 38 in PG. Among the gold medal winners, 28 are boys and 18 are girls. This is the first time that the convocation is being held twice in the same session. Earlier, the main convocation ceremony had taken place on 25th September.

Apart from the main campus of the university, graduates from affiliated colleges also participated in the convocation ceremony organized in the university. The ceremony started at 11 am. The chief guest of the ceremony on the first day was Prof. who has been the Vice Chancellor of many universities including Uttar Pradesh Technical University. Durg Singh Chauhan was there. On December 21, former Director of NAAC, Prof. AN Rai will be the chief guest. Presided over by the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Anand Kumar Tyagi will do it.
Top 10 students got degrees
In the ceremony, eight gold medals (7 girl students and 1 boy student) were awarded in eight undergraduate courses. While 38 gold medals (27 students and 11 students) were awarded in 36 postgraduate courses. In this, two gold medals each were awarded in MA (IRPM) and MSc (Biology) due to two students having the same CGPA. The students included in the top ten received their degrees from the counter of Pant Administrative Building on Friday afternoon.
Postgraduate : Anju Verma (MA Hindi), Sheetal Rai (MA English), Aanchal (MA Sanskrit), Shahana Bibi (MA Urdu), Disha Singh (MA Philosophy), Sandhya Patel (MA History – IHC), Ayesha (Medieval and Modern), 38 meritorious students including Akanksha Dohra (MFA), Mahima (MLib ISC), Chandni Sharma (MA Mass Communication).
